There’s something quietly magical about meeting a creature for the first time. For me, that moment came with the red squirrel. A species I’d admired from afar but never had the chance to photograph before.

Captured among the soft textures of fallen leaves and forest light, each photograph tells a small story of curiosity and calm. The red squirrel’s vibrant coat glows against the muted woodland tones, its movements quick yet delicate, a reminder of how much life thrives in stillness.

I found myself drawn to the way light played across its fur, revealing shades of copper and gold as it paused to forage or darted between branches. In one shot, it sits quietly; in another, it turns away, tail fluffed like a brushstroke of autumn. These fleeting gestures are what make wildlife photography so rewarding, moments that feel both spontaneous and timeless.
