Curbar Edge

What better way to spend a bank holiday Monday than to go walking in the Derbyshire hills. On a clear day from Curbar Edge you can see out over the Derbyshire moors and valleys. I forget how close we are to the Peak District.

Eynsham Hall

While visiting friends in Witney, Oxfordshire we stayed at the magnificent Eynsham Hall, which is one of the great country houses in Oxfordshire. The house and grounds offer the perfect retreat in the beautiful Cotswold’s coutryside.

Eynsham Hall –  “In the 1700s a wealthy gent enclosed 3,000 acres of Oxfordshire to create the ultimate space in which to entertain guests.”

Manor Fields Park

Since we stay a stones throw away from Manor Fields Park it would be mad not to take advantage of this natural scenery. This was not a planned shoot, we had decided to spend the early evening a few nights ago relaxing in the park as the sun way still out and was still quite warm. I have not really spent much time at this park considering how close we live to it. Hopefully I have some nice shots that I can add to my Project Sheffield collection. On a nice sunny day the park looks like it would be a good natural location for a portrait shoot. I may bare this in mind for future portrait photoshoots.

Burford Sunset

On a recent trip down to the Cotswold town of Burford in Oxfordshire to see some friends. I had the chance to capture some of the amazing scenery that I love so much.RuralPrint017It is a remarkable part of the English countryside, with rolling hills which enclose small towns with beautiful and quaint architecture.

I may be Scottish but there is a part of my heart that will always be captivated by the Cotswolds.

The Sheffield Wheel

When I was at Nikki’s last week we went to see the new big wheel that Sheffield has in its city centre. It’s like the London Eye but on a slightly smaller scale I think. It’s placed in a strange place but you do get some good views when your at the top of it.
