Dragonflies & Damselflies are becoming one of my favourite subjects to photograph. A recent to visit to Potteric Carr | YWT gave us the opportunity to photograph this fine specimen of what I believe is a male Common Darter dragonfly. I’ve photographed Common Darters before, but I’ve never encountered one with such an intensely vibrant red colouring. I initially thought I’d managed to spot and photograph a species of dragonfly that I’d not seen before.
Hopefully with each opportunity I get to to photograph these flighty creatures my photographs of them is getting better.
