I’ve delved into my archives again for this post. I captured these shots during the Summer of 2020. During one of the many lockdowns of the time, when we were allowed to venture outside for exercise. Photo walks are exercise right?
If my memory serves me, I spotted this female Mandarin duck nesting with her brood of duckling while visiting Forge Dam.
I felt incredibly lucky to be able to witness and photograph this mother with her ducklings. Although I kept my distance so not to spook them, they seemed vey comfortable being watched and photographed. I guess most of the wildlife around the dam are used people exploring the dam and surrounding trails.
We are extremely lucky here in Sheffield, to be surrounded by so many green spaces where we can connect with nature and go wildlife spotting.
