The Common Daisy aka lawn daisy or grass daisy. Some people may consider these as weeds, but I’m quite fond of them. They always make me think of Summer, childhood memories of picnics and daisy chains.
I took these shots at a local woodland (Ecclesall Woods). Daisies, especially the Common Daisy probably aren’t most people flower of choice to stop and photograph. But the effect of the sunlight shining through the woodland canopy highlighting them caught my eye. For such delicate little flowers, they are also remarkable hardy. Surviving in simple environments such as our garden lawns, to more diverse woodland habitats. Woodland/forest habitats are becoming one of my favourite environments to explore and photograph. I love the tranquillity of them.
