So the forecast was correct. We have had the first snow of 2025. Although, thankfully it has not dropped to -8c (in these parts at least). I’ve not had the opportunity to go out and photograph any snowy scenes yet. So, for the time being I shall share the last of the shots that I captured during the previous snowfall we had back in November last year.

These scenes I decided to depict in monochrome. I feel snow scenes almost ask to be captured in black and white. The brightness of the snow against the cold Winter weathered surroundings can create some wonderful contrasts.
The park has become my go-to spot when it comes to photographing snow these days. Mostly because I’m lazy. My tendency to prioritise comfort & warmth over my love for photography prevents me from venturing too far in the snow. I do love seeing the silhouettes of the trees against the snow, which is another reason why I like to visit the park when there has been snowfall.
If the snow sticks around for a while longer, I may manage to venture out over the next few days to take some photographs. If not, I may have to wait until the next snowfall.
Stay safe & warm out there!
