YSP Highland Cattle

As I have not been out as much recently with my camera. I thought I would have a look through my photo archives. I have more photos from the last couple of years that I haven’t shared than I realised.

I captured these shots last Summer while visiting the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. The grounds of the sculpture park include woodland and countryside where highland cattle, as well as sheep, heron, and geese roam free. Visitors to the park are welcome to explore these areas. Now it is no secret that I love Highland Cows. So I couldn’t resist getting the opportunity to see highland cattle roaming free. This is the closest that I have gotten to these majestic animals without them being in a farmers field with a fence between us. I was a little nervous being so close to these gentle giants. We did our best to keep a respectful distance while photographing them, even if the cattle did their best to get as close to us as they could. I felt so lucky to be able to have the experience of photographing them as they roam free.

I may have some other shots to share from this trip to the YSP. I still have some shots to review and potentially edit. As well as revisiting some of my archives of photos I haven’t shared yet. I do still hope that I can get out and explore more with my camera, life permitting.
