Since working from home I try to go out for a walk most days. This usually involves a walk around one of our local parks. I’m always grateful for the amount of green spaces that we have around the city. For a city that has such an industrial background it is probably also one of the greenest.
Anyway, I digress from the subject of this gallery post. I have been drawn more & more to creating black & white images lately, choosing monochrome over my usual bright & colourful photographs. So much so that I’ve decided to dedicate a gallery section to them (Life in Mono).

While out walking recently I thought I would attempt capture our local park in monochrome. In my opinion photographing nature in black & white doesn’t always work. Nature is so full of colour, that you can sometimes lose the beauty of the subject. Although I think on this occasion it has worked. I love the contrast between the sky & the clouds, and the shadow from the tree on the grass.
My recent posts to my Instagram of late have also been captured in black & white. Most of the shots that I have shared on Instagram are cropped from larger photographs that I’ve taken. Which I plan to include some of these originals on my blog.
