Some days it is hard to see the light in the darkness. To see the beauty in world when times are tough.
A few weeks ago, during a very grey and miserable looking day, I spotted these wildflowers doing their best to hold on as Autumn takes hold and the weather turns colder. It reminded me that even during the darkest of days, there is always beauty to be found, simple joys to experience.

Lately, I haven’t had the luxury of time or motivation to spend on my photography. Most of the recent photos I’ve shared have either been previously unshared or are re-posts of older shots. So, it’s nice to be able to share some of my most recent shots.
I didn’t go out with the plan of taking photos on this particular day. I was walking through the park on my way back from visiting family. When these wildflowers caught my eye. I made myself stop, to take a moment to enjoy my surroundings (and of course capture some photos). I loved the contrast of the vibrant purple & pink flowers against the backdrop of the misty & driech looking sky.
Sometimes the best photo opportunities are by chance. Even when I go out with the intention of taking photos, I rarely have a specific plan. It’s more of a see what catches my attention & inspires me.
I need to be better at making time to go out and take more photographs. Especially to work on my nature photography. Connecting with nature does definitely help me to de-stress and zone out for a while from the challenges that life throws at me.
I’m curious, does anyone else find their photography is like a bit of escapism?
